Bodrum Marmaris

Day 1
We board the yacht in Bodrum and share a 'welcome aboard' drink with the captain and crew. After a briefing from the captain concerning the yacht and how the week will proceed, we get settled in before dinner. Overnight in Bodrum Harbour.

Day 2
After passport formalities are complete and breakfast is over, we depart for our short cruse to Kos. Once in Greece, we must clear in, so we are at lunch in Kos harbour before venturing ashore. The town of Kos has many nearby ruins, the most interesting being the Asklepieion - we suggest you hire a small moped to get there and back. The day is free for exploration and after the evening meal, there will be plenty of time to explore the local shops in the cool of the day

Day 3
We depart early for Symi, finding a suitably picturesque cove for our lunch time stop. For those who wish to swim, we will be here until mid afternoon, when we shall pick up our anchor and make for Symi Harbour.

Day 4
We return to Turkey at the small port of Datca, and once clearance formalities are complete, we can go ashore and take in the sights. In the late afternoon, we head north east to our small overnight anchorage: dinner is spent in Bencik.

Day 5
Before noon, we explore the Gulf of Hisaronu, and by the end of the day, we will have explored the Gulf of Yesilova. Tonight we anchor in the harbour of a small fishing village, Bozburun.

Day 6
We round the headland known as "Karaburun" in the late morning, arriving at Bozukkale by lunch time. This is the site of ancient Loryma, once a great trading port, now a popular stop for charter yachts. From atop the ruins of a Hellenistic fortress, we can watch the sun begin to set over the Aegean, with the Greek island of Rhodes in the distance. Sadly, we must leave this romantic setting and move on to our overnight anchorage to the north, Serce. At was here that the ruins of a Byzantine trading ship carrying a cargo of glass was discovered. Many of the findings are now on display at the Museum of Underwater Archaeology.

Day 7
Mid-morning, we depart for Ciftlik, stopping for a swim and a walk on the small-pebbled beach. We stop late in the day at Kadirga before continuing on to Marmaris. Dinner and overnight in Marmaris or nearby

Day 8
We disembark in Marmaris in the late morning.
